-----------------
I stated that the next The Longest Journey game (it's becoming really difficult to not name it by name (that's one of many, many Big Secrets), but I can't very well call it "TLJ2" or "the sequel to TLJ" either - because it ain't. It's...the next chapter in the saga. Not a sequel.
-----------------
Le jeu devrait être disponible début mai 2006.
-----------------
I'd love to actually see that game on both the PC and the Xbox; the story and gameplay I have in mind would work really well on a console.
-----------------
A good PC today will be able to run the game fine.
-----------------
I am very much involved, though not in precisely the same fashion - or as extensively - as with the first game. I'm currently working on several projects, and I have to divide my time between them. I'm directing the design and story work, however, and I will probably write a lot of the dialogue, in co-operation with my co-writer Dag Scheve.
-----------------
We'll try to find some way to summarise the events of the first game, but in a way that feels natural. Not, "Previously, on The Longest Journey". That would be silly. I think I have some good ideas about how to do it, but you'll have to wait a while to find out
Will the game be easier for those of you who have played TLJ? Probably not. You'll get the references, you'll understand how it all ties together, and you'll be able to theorise about where the story is heading - but the game will stand on its own two feet, and provide an equally fun, surprising, and challenging experience to players old and new
-----------------
I didn't reveal much, but there are certainly some intriguing new information regarding the game...including the heroine's name, and how April Ryan fits into it all...
And April? "She'll be back." Yes. Oh yes. But it'll be...very unexpected. And very, very cool
Of course April Ryan's fate will be explained -- or at least be elaborated upon -- and she will still be an important part, a very important part, of the story nd April? "She'll be back." Yes. Oh yes. But it'll be...very unexpected. And very, very cool
The game will allow you to play three different characters. One of them is a young woman named Zoë, who is assumedly the central character.

that pushes the boundaries of the genre, introduces new kinds of puzzles and interactions - and an interface that reflects the technological evolution of the target platforms.
Most importantly, we're opening up for more replayability, as well as additional quests that the player isn't required to complete.
There will be no platform jumping, key collecting, three-lives and you're out, random arcade-y kid-friendly silliness in our upcoming adventure game The Longest Journey: Static!
Yes, there will be action, but action that's perfectly in tune with the story, with the adventuring elements, with the puzzles, the conversations, the environment.
The adventure genre should be a flexible one, facilitating for a wide variety of gameplay - from pure exploration and puzzle-solving, to more action-oriented gameplay.
-----------------
We're not making any compromises to the story, the setting, the characters or the concept in order to appeal to an entirely new audience. We're continuing down the same path we started on, almost seven years ago.
The story is also a world better (pun definitely intended) than that of the first game. If for no other reason, play TLJ:S for the story and the characters. You'll be amazed. I promise.
The story will be deeper, more mature, with lots of twists and surprises.
One general criticism the first one's received is that it was too talky, and we're taking that to heart. There will still be lots and lots of dialogue, but snappier, better paced, a better balance between playing and listening.
